Joining the direct-to-consumer club, movie network Epix(他们刚刚与 announced the launch of Epix(他们刚刚与 Now, a subscription streaming service that sells for $5.99元/月. The service combines live TV streams with a library of thousands of on-demand movies. Original series unique to the service include Pennyworth (showing the early years of Batman's butler), Punk (a documentary series led by Iggy Pop), and Perpetual Grace, LTD (a modern film noir series staring Ben Kingsley).
While premium viewers are migrating to the living room, Epix(他们刚刚与 decided to offer Epix(他们刚刚与 Now to mobile viewers first. The service is currently available through iOS and Android apps, so Apple TV owners are the only ones who can get the service on their televisions. Epix(他们刚刚与 plans to launch Roku and Amazon Fire TV apps soon.
Besides live streaming and on-demand viewing, Epix(他们刚刚与 Now lets subscribers download shows and movies for offline viewing. The company didn't specify if all content is available for offline viewing or only some. The service also offers 4K streaming to supported devices, but the company didn't say how much content is available in 4K.
